Community Day Camp provides all students with fun, engaging activities including theater, fitness, Spanish and nature in addition to daily outdoor sports and games. There will be an exciting array of course offerings that spark the interests of every camper the whole summer through!
Camp fees are $200 per week with camp hours from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Before camp care is $50 per week from 8:00 am-9:00 am and after camp care is $100 per week from 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm.
*Families with children in Preschool & Day Camp: Free aftercare is offered from 2:00 - 3:00 pm
June 4 - Take an Art Safari: Campers will take an art safari and create art from different perspectives including landscape art, earth art, and animals in art.
June 11 - Art Through the Eyes of the Artist: Campers will explore art from different cultures around the world and make art through different artists' eyes.
June 18 - Healthy Heroes: Campers will try different exercises like yoga, Pilates, belly dancing, Ti Chi, etc. They will make a healthy recipes like banana sushi, baked tortilla chips, fruit kabobs, and lots more as they learn about how nutrition affects our health.
June 25 - Focus on Fitness: This camp experience focuses on youth fitness and wellbeing; creating a healthy, whole child experience! Along with various fitness activities, we will practice yoga, learn about nutrition, collaborate through team-building, and become stronger inside and out through growth mindset activities with a focus on self-confidence, self-expression, positivity, and peer connection.
July 2 - All the World’s a Stage: Campers will play improv and learn theater basics. They will work with scripts perform for friends and family at our Variety Show at the end of the week!
July 9 - Games, Gaffs and Giggles: If your child enjoys a good joke or loves having fun and being silly, sign up here! They'll entertain each other with their wit and have fun with theater games.
July 16 - Movie Makers: Campers will use the apple technology including ipads to capture the theatrics of camp! Using photos and movie clips, they'll learn to use IMovie to advertise and share camp experiences. They will also use the technology for fun and learning as it applies to math and reading. These computer experiences will be paired with hands-on activities using nature, art and math manipulatives.
July 23 - Florida Farming: Spend time in the garden this summer. We’ll use nature to inspire our exploration of art, reading and math. Campers will spend mornings outside gardening and taking care of our chickens. In the afternoons we’ll bring our nature projects inside and spend time cuddling our school bunny and our resident pet rat.
July 30 - Sports, Games and Spanish: Campers will enjoy playing group games both inside and out! They’ll have fun during the last couple of weeks of Summer exploring the Spanish language through fun songs and games. Campers entering Kindergarten or those who have just finished their Kindergarten year and entering First Grade will be immersed in the structure of school in a fun and playful way. They will explore reading, writing, math and science with a focus on understanding expectations, getting to know each other and having fun at the same time.
Aug. 6 - More Sports, Games and Spanish: Campers will enjoy playing group games both inside and out! They’ll have fun during the last couple of weeks of Summer exploring the Spanish language through fun songs and games. Campers entering Kindergarten and First Grade will be immersed in the structure of school in a fun and playful way. They will explore reading, writing, math and science with a focus on understanding expectations, getting to know each other and having fun at the same time.
Swimming Overview: Campers and camp staff will walk three blocks to Arlington Park Swim Club where students will swim and play. Arlington Park guards require each to student to pass a swim test in order to certain pool areas and all students are supervised by camp staff and Arlington Park guards.
Students completing grades 6-8 will have an exciting summer opportunity through our newly developed Counselor In Training (CIT) program. The CIT Program will allow students to build and foster leadership skills as they will play a very important role in our day-to-day camp operations. Students must complete a separate application to be considered for these exciting positions.
Preschool Summer Experience is a fun and play-filled camp. Children enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities while learning new skills, working cooperatively with others and engaging in creative play. Our highly-trained and caring faculty, along with our low staff-to-camper ratio, ensures individual attention, maximum participation and success for each camper.
