Innovation

Innovation at CDS grows from a simple belief: students learn best by doing. In every grade, learners tackle authentic problems, prototype solutions, and reflect on their process—developing the creativity, resilience, and teamwork today’s world demands.
Hands-on spaces like the Epstein Family Art Studio and classroom makerspaces turn sketches into models and models into finished products. Our robotics and engineering experiences challenge students to design with purpose, code with clarity, and iterate with grit. Outdoors, the Papa Ed and Mimi Rosenthal Kibbutz Sustainability Garden and Outdoor Classroom and campus sustainability projects connect science to stewardship as students test soil, track growth cycles, and share harvests with our community.
Innovation also means looking outward. Through global partnerships (including our Tel Mond sister-school connection), students collaborate across cultures, compare solutions, and present their work to authentic audiences. Along the way, teachers coach the habits of mind that drive creative work—curiosity, precision, reflection, and courage.
Whether they are building a sensor, composing a score, editing a film, or pitching a service idea, CDS students learn to turn ideas into impact—and to do it with integrity and joy.
