At Community Day School, music is more than a subject—it’s a shared language that connects us, inspires creativity, and opens a window into cultures and histories from around the world. Through active exploration, performance, and play, our students develop both a love for music and the confidence to express themselves in new and meaningful ways.

Grounded in the belief that the best way to learn music is by experiencing it, our full-year music program invites every child—from preschool through middle school—to discover a wide range of styles, instruments, and traditions.

Highlights of our program include:

• Instrumental Music: Students of all levels build confidence and skill through both individual practice and group performance, discovering the joy of making music together.

• Early Childhood Music Immersion: In preschool, music and movement are woven into each day, sparking creativity, joy, and a lifelong love of music from the very start.

• Performance-Based Learning in Elementary and Middle School: Guided by our expert faculty, students explore music theory, performance, and a wide variety of instruments, gaining a well-rounded foundation in the art of music.

• Musical Enrichment: At Community Day, students have countless opportunities to grow their talents and pursue their passion for music. From performance-based clubs to enrichment classes and afterschool lessons, every child can find their rhythm and take their musical journey to the next level.
