Student Empowerment

Community Day School graduates are more than scholars—they are engaged citizens of the world. Our students think critically, ask big questions about justice and fairness, and have the confidence and tools to turn their ideas into action. They are empathetic, collaborative, and reflective, embodying the values that guide our school community.
Through service learning projects, daily “shout-outs” that celebrate acts of kindness, and a social-emotional learning program rooted in empathy and compassion, Community Day students live the value of Tikkun Olam—improving the world—each and every day.

As part of our Project-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum, students collaborate with local and global nonprofit organizations that address a wide range of social justice issues. These partnerships allow students to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges, serving community needs while pursuing meaningful academic goals. Along the way, students reflect on their experiences and develop the skills and passion for lifelong action.
