Outdoor Learning
Learning to Grow, Growing to Learn
Only at Community Day School will you find students outside everyday learning key academic concepts and life skills through daily agriculture class. Our Papa Ed and Mimi Rosenthal Kibbutz Sustainability Garden and Outdoor Classroom provides students of all ages the opportunity to grow healthy produce which, in turn, we can share with our community. Students in our preschool use the outdoor classroom daily, exploring the many wonders of our natural world as they learn how to plant, tend and harvest fruits, vegetables and flowers.
Because our grounds are pesticide-free, food from the garden- as well as carambolas, mangos and avocados from the "Remember Me" orchard - can be eaten when picked.
All Community Day School students spend a minimum of one hour outside every day!
